NetCom Bhutan Limited (NBL) is one of the largest Multi-Service Operator (MSO) in Bhutan. MSO for Bhutan targets to achieve an ambitious Digital TV service coverage to at least 90% of the households of currently unserved gewogs/chiwogs in Bhutan through an evolved organization consolidating the needs of the cable operators and ever-changing demands and expectations of the current customers with uniform and multiple service via, television, internet, video and other VAS-that are to be made accessible not just on the traditional TV set, but also on varied emerging technology platforms; all enabled by the rapid proliferation of digitized contents transported over the IP. The application to establish an MSO was submitted to MoIC in June 2017. The objective for MSO was to “Reach the unreached” by embarking on its migration towards digitization with the formation of MSO, and transform the current organization and conduct, business model, practices, and service operation of CATV operators to thwart the impending threats and exploit the imminent opportunities. It is a single organization responsible for carrying out the Operation and Management of the LCO across the country, and it is a nonprofit organization established in 2019.
